The Rotary Club of Utica recently hosted a virtual awards program honoring seven outstanding local high school educators. Other local Rotary Clubs were also involved in the program and had selections of educators from their respective districts. The educators were nominated by local high school students and during the awards program, both the students and teachers were recognized, and the students explained why these educators were chosen. Those honored this year include:
Five employees recently received Rotary’s Pride of Workmanship Awards. They are: Physician Assistant Alex Carangelo with Central NY Brain & Spine Neurosurgery, Registered Nurse Laurie Depot with Mohawk Valley Health System, Utica Deputy Police Chief Ed Noonan, CABVI Manager Kimberly Scerbo, and Catholic Charities Facilities Manager Jim Smith.
 
Local Rotary Clubs recently honored six high school teachers for exemplyiing "Service Above Self". The honorees are: Megan Cappadonia (Proctor), Elizabeth Cissi (New Hartford), Melody Morris (Whitesboro), Tim Papienuk (New York Mills), Dwight Putnam (Notre Dame), and Kathleen Washburn (Clinton).
 
 
The Rotary Clubs of Utica, North Utica/Whitestown, New Hartford, and Sauquoit honored seven Utica-area teachers May 2, 2019 at their annual Outstanding Educators Awards Program.
