Announcements:
  • President David reported on the hugely successful Member Mixer and thanked the membership committee for organizing (note: 35 members & 31 guests attended event!)
  • Membership committee is starting up a monthly (last Wednesday of the month) informal social gathering for current members and potential new members; the first gathering will be March 27 from 5-7 p.m. at a place to be determined (note: originally announced Saranac Tavern but since found out it closes at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays)
  • Save the date for SPRING 2019 DISTRICT 7150 CELEBRATION, May 3-5, 2019. President David needs help creating a display table for the conference; contact him to help
  • The Racap News committee can use help; contact Michelle Brandstadt or Tina Pavlot if interested

Induction of New Members:
Two new members were inducted by President David. Joe Caruso, as their sponsor, introduced Elizabeth Nassar and Mark Simon. Mark is the marketing director for Utica Zoo and founder of Made in Utica. Elizabeth is the academic business development director for Utica College.

Meeting Program:
Mr. Jim White, organizer for The Ride for Missing Children CNY, talked about the work being done at the Mohawk Valley office of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC-NY/Mohawk Valley) and the overall mission of NCMEC. In addition to detailing the growth and support of The Ride for Missing Children CNY, Mr. White showed a powerful video about NCMEC and the victims and families it has helped as well as a video showcasing The Ride for Missing Children CNY.
