President Joe shared his “What has Rotary done to make you proud” segment. Highlights were:
- Member and PP Bill Waszkiewicz, owner of Chester’s Flowers, sent about 85 bud vases to nursing home residents in the 4 different facilities in hopes of brightening their day.
Announcements:
- We said goodbye to Felix, our youth exchange student, who arrived home in Germany this morning. Youth Exchange committee members were able to zoom with him to say farewell.
- The Players of Utica are starting an online talent contest
- District 7150 is hosting weekly movie nights via the Netflix Party app. Check your email for next week’s movie.
- Our club is looking to schedule a virtual happy hour for April 1st
- PP Jim Turnbull reported that CABVI is packaging gloves and developing a process to sew masks
- A Red Cross blood drive is scheduled for Saturday, March 28th at the COCVAC in Clinton from 8 am – 1 pm. See our Facebook page for more information
- Oneida county is in need of volunteers – email volunteer@ocgov.net to help
- Jim Day reported that there will be no RYLA this year due to COVID-19 and the uncertainty it’s caused with Cazenovia College and local school district closures
- Adopt a highway cleanup is planned for May 16th. See Stephen Turnbull for details.
- Maria Pavlock reported that early recruitment for Rotaract has begun. Applications will be open starting May 1st. Keep an eye out for the upcoming press release.
