School supplies are distributed to children at Municipal Housing Authority residences.
Pikcing up school supplies
Picking up school supplies for delivery were, from left, Anthony Brindisi (volunteer), Dan Smith (Max’s), Tony Baffa (Max’s), Michelle Brandstadt (Utica Rotary) and Stephen Turnbull (Utica Rotary President).

Rotary Club of Utica members delivered school supplies on Aug. 18 to be distributed to the children residing in Utica Municipal Housing Authority (UMHA) residences.

UMHA employees as well as AmeriCorps volunteers spent a day stuffing backpacks with donated and purchased supplies. The backpacks were distributed on scheduled pick-up days at each UMHA residential location.

Close to $6,000 in school supplies were collected, thanks to the generosity of Rotary Club members and a very large donation by Max’s Print Shop in Marcy.

Utica Rotary President Stephen Turnbull expressed gratitude "to all who donated school supplies and helped distribute them to local students."
